Our centennial journey has been magnificent, and our original aspiration has become stronger with the passing of time. From the little red ship that sowed the seeds of revolution to the giant ship that led the cause of rejuvenation, our Party has led the people in making brilliant achievements that have attracted the attention of the world, writing a magnificent historical picture, and leaving behind valuable experience and spiritual wealth. The history of the Communist Party of China is a rich and vivid textbook. By inspiring people with the Party's great achievements, educating them with its fine traditions, enlightening them with its successful experience, and warning them with its historical lessons, we can clearly see where we are in history and draw on the wisdom and strength to move forward. From today on, we will launch a column entitled "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China · Essentials of Party History". Together with all of you, we will strengthen our faith and belief, enhance self-confidence and self-consciousness in the process of "reviewing the road we have gone through". From 1921 to 2021, the CPC has gone through a full 100 years of history. It was written with blood, sweat, tears, courage, wisdom and strength. It is a century full of hardships and miracles, plowing through hardships, pioneering hardships and forging ahead. It is a century in which we forged brilliance in adversity, rose resolutely after setbacks, harvested success in exploration, put things right after mistakes, opened up a new chapter in turning points, and won the future after struggle. Striving for national independence and liberation and realizing national prosperity and people's happiness have been the main theme and thread of the CPC's century-old history. "Unremitting struggle", "theoretical exploration" and "self-improvement" are the mainstream and essence of the CPC's century-old history. Continuous progress in the cause of revolution, development, reform and rejuvenation is a distinctive feature of the CPC's century-old history. It is the solemn mission of the CPC's century-old history to gradually realize the goal of saving, rejuvenating, enriching and strengthening the country.
The 100-year history of the Communist Party of China can be divided into four historical periods: from the founding of the Communist Party of China in July 1921 to the founding of the People's Republic of China in October 1949, which is the period of the New Democratic Revolution; From October 1949 to December 1978, when the Third Plenary Session of the eleventh CPC Central Committee was held, it was the period of socialist revolution and construction. From December 1978 to November 2012 when the 18th CPC National Congress was held, it was a new period of reform and opening up and socialist modernization. From November 2012 till now, it is a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In these four historical periods, the CPC accomplished and promoted four major events. Four major events contributed to the centennial glory of the CPC.
