Diplomatic corps
The main responsibilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs include implementing the state's foreign policies and relevant laws and regulations, safeguarding state sovereignty, security and interests on behalf of the state, handling foreign affairs on behalf of the state and the government, and handling diplomatic exchanges between Party and state leaders and foreign leaders. To investigate and study overarching and strategic issues in the international situation and international relations; to study and analyze major diplomatic issues in the fields of politics, economy, culture and security; and to make suggestions for the formulation of diplomatic strategies, guidelines and policies by the CPC Central Committee and The State Council.

Since 1983, there have been 32 spokesmen in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are:
